Stone Carving

Over the weekend you will learn the ancient art of using a mallet and chisels to create a permanent work in stone to take home with you. This workshop includes all tools and supplies and a selection of stones (in different shapes and sizes) to choose from for your project.


Participants should bring: safety glasses, closed toed shoes and your imagination.

About heather lawson:

A native Nova Scotian, heather lawson shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for stone and stone carving techniques with all that come into contact with her. Using traditional stone carving techniques, she creates works inspired by the natural world around her. Trained as a restoration stonemason, she carves her work by hand, each sculpture unique to the moment. heather is entering into her third decade of working with stone and is considered a master artisan.
