Felt a bird, make a Christmas tree ornament; this is a class for the young and for the young at heart (12 years of age and up). All tools and supplies will be provided to felt a simple bird ornament or you can take the skills you observe in the demonstrations and apply them to a marvel of your own making. No experience is necessary to learn the basics of needle felting, and you will be opened up to a world of creation that is limited only by your imagination. Participants in this workshop will learn how to transform a styrofoam ball, bits of pipe cleaner or just the wool roving itself into a colourful, three dimensional ornament. There will be lots of sharing and support so you can take home a piece to be proud of.
About Rion Microys:
Rion Microys, a former archaeologist, has been working with papier-maché and multi-media arts for the last 20 years. She has participated in a variety of solo, group and craft shows throughout her career. Rion’s creative philosophy is grounded in fun and she believes play is an essential element of living. Rion still has to work hard, and gets dirty doing it, but she is jolly and content knowing that the work she creates brings all of us more sky blue silliness, yellow humour, purple absurdity, pink smiles, green wit and crimson charm. Rion calls Annapolis Royal home where she runs a B & B with her husband Richard.
