Lunenburg School of the Arts’ introductory ceramics class, “Kids & Clay”, for students between the ages of 11 and 16, was enthusiastically attended. Classes were held on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for six weeks. There was much interest in another “Kids & Clay” session in the new-year.

Instructor Alexandra Moore, had as much fun teaching the class as the young artists did learning new skills, which included hand building with clay and throwing at the wheel.

“Kids & Clay” was a curiously creative endeavour. The kids loved working with clay as a medium and I loved creating an open framework for their clay creations in class. It would be a joy to have them all come back in the new-year”, said Moore.

“Every Wednesday my daughter would say, “Oh it’s Wednesday. Yeaaaaah!!  It’s pottery class day!!!” That says it all. But I should add – yes this class is fun and it should be but by the results of the class the children also learned some good skills. My daughter would take an ongoing class if she could. Thanks for offering it!” Mary Knickle, Parent.

As for the kids in the class, you only have to look at the pictures to appreciate the amount of fun had by all!
